SPARK – Symposium for Innovative Teaching-Learning in Practice

There are many teachers in professional colleges, far and wide in India who have devised new methods of motivating their students and bringing about effective learning. They may have thought of these ideas as nothing more than 'part of the work'. They may have inspired few teachers around them to use them. Or they may have been ignored by their peers. Perhaps you are one such teacher or you know someone who is.

Teacher's Academy will bring such teachers to the forefront of the education revolution that is now happening. Quality of thinking is the new mantra and inspiring teachers are the people who sow the seeds of thinking and nurture the plant. Through this symposium we want to expand the body of 'Inspiring Teachers'.

Who can contribute?
  • If you are a college who has changed the way your students learn – either in curriculum, or skills or values
  • If you are a teacher who has used innovative methods in or out of the class either to motivate the students, teach them or assess them provided….these methods have been used over a period of time and the impact has been felt and measured.

A panel of leading educational reformers will review your submissions and the finalists will be called to present their ideas with possible evidence, in the symposium. The symposium will be attended by many professional college faculty in addition to the contestants. With keynote speakers, panel discussions and presentations, the symposium will be able to come out with a handbook of tips for effective teaching that can be shared by the teaching community.

Microteaching sprints will be held during the symposium where young faculty/aspiring faculty can participate too and win exciting jobs, prizes and fellowships.
